Big Hedge Co. Strengthens Design Teams with ‘World-Class’ Appointment

Based in Chester, Big Hedge Co. is staking its claim to be one of the fastest-growing bespoke businesses across the horticultural industry; the specialists in ready-grown hedging and topiary has further strengthened their in-house Design Team with the appointment of Tom Bannister as the company’s first-ever dedicated Design and Construction Manager.

Tom has over 15 years’ experience in nursery management, hard and soft landscaping as well as the building of award-winning show gardens at both the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows. He has recently qualified from the London College of Garden Design where his final, personal project incorporated the completed design of a three-acre contemporary garden at a newly converted barn in Norfolk.

The college aims to provide “world-class, inspirational garden design training” and Tom is delighted to be bringing a wealth of knowledge, skills and up-to-date learning to Big Hedge Co.: “I am passionate about creating exceptional tailor-made projects, turning concepts into reality as well as actively promoting habitat creation within gardens of all sizes. This fast-growing business is full of exciting, fresh ideas and I cannot wait to play an integral role in shaping its future development. Big Hedge Co. share the same passion for high-quality products and a shared vision for the future so I cannot wait to get started.”

In a real coup for the business, Tom will work alongside the existing members of the Design Team and be responsible for all aspects of design and installation as well as sharing his expert knowledge within the fields of planting and maintenance.

David Binks, Managing Director at Big Hedge Co. said: “I am really excited by the appointment of Tom who will provide a unique addition to our current client offering and help spread the word about the need for habitat creation further. Tom will be key to the company’s continued growth over the coming years and it is testament to our ambitious plans that we have been able to attract Tom from the bright lights of London to the North of England for his next career move. It is certainly an exciting time to join the Big Hedge Co. team.”
